Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Coordinator to develop, implement, and oversee workplace safety programs. The Safety Coordinator will ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, promote a culture of safety, and conduct regular risk assessments. The ideal candidate will have experience in workplace safety, knowledge of industry regulations, and excellent communication skills to train employees and enforce safety policies.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
+ Conduct regular workplace safety inspections, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
+ Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
+ Coordinate and lead safety training programs, toolbox talks, and emergency preparedness drills.
+ Maintain accurate records of safety audits, incidents, and corrective actions.
+ Investigate workplace accidents and near-miss incidents, preparing reports and recommending improvements.
+ Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
+ Collaborate with management and employees to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
+ Stay up to date with industry safety standards and recommend policy updates as needed.
+ Assist with workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).
+ Certification in safety management (e.g., OSHA 30/OSHA 510, CSP, ASP) is a plus.
+ 2+ years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or warehousing.
+ Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety procedures, and risk management practices.
+ Excellent communication and training skills.
+ Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
+ Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience conducting safety audits and accident investigations.
+ Knowledge of workers’ compensation processes.
+ Familiarity with environmental health and safety (EHS) software.
