As a Safety Coordinator, you will implement and manage safety programs and procedures that will reduce injuries and their associated costs, as well as meet all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
YOUR IMPACT:
Conduct safety audits of facilities to pinpoint unsafe working conditions, behaviors and practices and develop sound recommendations for correctionsInvestigate injury reports and follow-up to ensure corrective action is takenMaintain all required documentation for Oshkosh Corporation’s DOT programCoordinate industrial hygiene testing and implement corrective action, if requiredOversee safety-related training that is required to remain in compliance with all applicable regulationUpdate management on the status of Oshkosh’s safety program through monthly and quarterly reportsStrengthen and lead the Company’s ergonomics programCoordinate the services of insurance carriers and outside consulting personnelOrganize, plan, and steer the Safety Representative Program to ensure that Oshkosh employees are provided with a safe workplaceWork closely with our Health Services Manager on worker’s compensation concernsMaintain an active role on our Safety Implementation TeamCoordinate with manufacturing, engineering, etc., on the design and construction of new equipment, facilities and processes to insure safe designDevelop and recommend general accident prevention programs to include specific protective procedures and devicesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceInternship experienceSTANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
