WHAT WE OFFER: Our W2 employees can expect the following benefits: + Competitive pay + Health/Dental Insurance + Group Life Insurance + 401K + HSA/FSA + Pre-Tax Transportation Program + Generous Paid Time Off/Holiday Policy SCOPE OF SERVICES: As a Ruby on Rails Developer, your responsibilities include: + Performing detailed and high-quality application design, database design, coding, and unit/integration/performance testing. + Developing and integrating responsive design-based web applications using full-stack Ruby on Rails 6.x and other open-source technologies such as Ruby 3.x, RVM, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, ReactJS, LeafletJS, jQuery, DataTables, Bootstrap, PostgreSQL 9.x, Apache, Tomcat, Linux, Ubuntu, Redis, Memcache, and RSpec. + Developing and integrating Geographic Information System (GIS) services based on ESRI, Google, MapBox, and Open-Source GIS solutions. + Building and integrating with RESTful and JSON APIs. + Performing configuration management, continuous integration, version control, unit and performance testing, and document management with tools such as GIT/GITHUB, BlazeMeter, and Jira. + Utilizing DevOps technologies such as Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, and DataDog. + Developing relational database design, normalization, T-SQL/stored procedures, and managing databases in SQL Server 2017/2019 and Azure SQL. + Building secure web applications with user authentication and role-based access control. + Implementing user interfaces following user experience and accessibility best practices. + Generating reports using Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (SSRS), ad-hoc reporting, and performing data migration/transformation using SSIS packages. + Adhering to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, utilizing Waterfall, RUP, and Agile methodologies. + Creating and updating design artifacts such as use case diagrams, application architecture, class/sequence diagrams, and high-level/detailed design documentation. + Collaborating with business analysts, quality assurance specialists, and application developers throughout development and implementation. + Understanding high-level application architecture/design, network design, performance constraints, and security frameworks. + Participating in and contributing to formal and informal technical reviews and presentations. + Researching, presenting, and making recommendations on technical issues and industry trends. MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered. + Minimum of 7 years of experience in writing application software, data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, programming, testing, implementation, technical/user documentation, and software conversions. + Experience working in mainframe, mid-range, personal computer, and laptop environments. + Experience assisting and/or leading in the design of program specifications and the implementation of software solutions. DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: + Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field is preferred. + 7+ years of experience in object-oriented design, development, testing, and deployment of business applications in web/client-server environments. + 7+ years of hands-on development experience with full-stack Ruby on Rails 5.x and Open-Source technologies such as Ruby 2.x, RVM, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, ReactJS, LeafletJS, jQuery, DataTables, Bootstrap, AngularJS, BackboneJS, PostgreSQL 9.x, Apache, Tomcat, Linux, Ubuntu, Redis, and Memcache. + Strong proficiency in data analysis and ad-hoc reporting using T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Excel. + Expertise in map-based application development and GIS mapping software, with preferred experience in ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, OpenLayers, and Mapbox. + Advanced working knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar application lifecycle management tools. + Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills. + Proficiency in wireless/mobile/disconnected architecture/applications. + Prior experience working on federal, state, or local government projects.
