Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Ruby Developer to support a major national laboratory.
As a Ruby Developer you will work with a team developing and/or maintaining web-based applications using tools such as Ruby on Rails or Java.
Responsibilities Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activitiesTranslate detailed design into application systemsTest, debug, and refine applications to produce the required productPrepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentationEnhance applications to improve performance and add functionalityProvide technical direction to engineers to ensure program deadlines are met. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science field, plus 6 years related experience. In lieu of a degree, additional relevant experience totaling 12 years may be applicable.U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q clearance.Knowledge of, and desire to follow IT Operations best practices and procedures such as issue management and incident response.Six years’ experience working in full stack application developmentSix years’ experience developing web-based applications using tools - such as Ruby on Rails or JavaExperience using Agile development methodologiesEffective oral and written communications skills along with a strong customer service commitmentFamiliar with information security best practicesDesired skills:
Experience integrating front end and back-end APIs to allow agnostic use of other front-end frameworks.Experience with Rails testing frameworks such as Rspec and Git.About Us:
