Job Title: Rock Engineer
Location: Mpumalanga, South Africa

Hire Resolve’s Client are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Rock Engineer to join their mining operation in Mpumalanga. The Rock Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and stability of underground and surface excavations, as well as providing expertise on ground support systems and rock mechanics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducting geotechnical investigations and assessments to determine rock mass characteristics and stability of mining excavations.
2. Designing and implementing ground support systems to ensure the safety and stability of underground and surface operations.
3. Providing technical support and guidance to mining engineers and other stakeholders on rock mechanics and ground control issues.
4. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of ground support systems and recommending improvements as necessary.
5. Conducting rock mass classification and slope stability assessments to identify potential hazards and risks.
6. Developing and implementing geotechnical monitoring programs to assess the performance of ground support systems over time.
7. Ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards related to ground support and rock mechanics.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Chamber of Mines Rock Mechanics Certificate and Grade 12
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Rock Engineer in the mining industry.
3. Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer.
4. Experience in conducting geotechnical investigations and rock mechanics assessments.
5. Strong knowledge of ground support systems and underground mining operations.
6. Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards related to ground control in mining operations.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Benefits:
Salary: R1.5m – R1.9m CTC
