Robotic Welding Engineer
Description:

Coordinate, supervise, and guide activities of the welding technicians in the plant.   Work with plant process and quality engineers to support the welding activities of the plant.    The responsibilities of the weld team will include setting and documenting all welding parameters, weld trouble shooting, setting up preventative maintenance schedules of weld equipment and robots, and performing welding audits.  Responsible to make sure all the welding in the plant is meeting Faurecia and customer weld standards.  Assist in RFQ activates and work with launch teams on new programs to set welding parameters and program robots on new product Launches.  Lead welding scrap reduction activities in the plant.  Must be willing to travel to support launches and weld network activities.         

 

The main missions of the role are to:

Set and validate parameters on Semiautomatic, Automatic, and Robot Welding equipment for GMAW, GTAW, and RSWSupervise the programming, maintenance, and enhancement of welding paths on Motoman DX100, NX100, and XRC controllers as well as other robot manufactures.Support RFQ’s for new welding equipmentSupport machine runoff and machine acceptanceSupervise and participate in weld training activities as neededTrouble shoot production welding equipmentMaintain Documents for Weld Standardization and WPSCoordinate PM and Repairs on welding equipmentCoordinate PM and Maintenance of Calibration of Welding Robot SystemsImplement welding related cost saving within the plantUpgrade and maintain welding equipment to the Faurecia StandardsPerform welding auditsDirect and support activities to ensure plant welding meets all customer and Faurecia welding standards and requirementsSupport activities to reduce welding scrap in the plantSupport design engineering on new programs for design for manufacturingParticipate in welding network activities and trainingAdhere to the Code of EthicsAdhere to Code of Management

 

Job Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications: Thorough familiarity with the GMAW, GTAW, and RSW processes and equipmentKnowledge of Stainless Steel MetallurgyResolves problems/conflicts, and mentors/coaches as neededDemonstrates analytical and problem-solving abilityWillingness to learn and work in a team environment4-year degree in Welding Engineering or Engineering degree with 10 plus years welding experienceMust be able to pass the Faurecia weld training program for both GMAW and GTAW
