Dowhas an exciting opportunity for aRoad Logistics Sourcing Manager! This position can be located inMidland, MIorHouston, TX. About you and this role In this role, you will create value for Dow by defining sourcing opportunities, developing and aligning sourcing strategies, leveraging supplier relationships, analyzing market conditions, and negotiating with suppliers and internal partners to optimize sustained value for Dow. This role requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of the discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines. You will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. You will lead our Packaged Truck freight procurement activities and supplier relationships within the Road, Warehouse, and Intermodal (RWI) Category. In addition to our Logistics Service Providers, you will work in close collaboration with Road Operations, Site Logistics, and Business Integrated Supply Chain. You will need to understand your discipline's best practices and how they relate to others. You may need to lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements as well as serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues. You should also be able to explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus with others. It is your responsibility to analyze and resolve complex problems, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions. Your performance impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and other related teams and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies. Responsibilities + Utilize business acumen and leverages best practices to drive value from the market and influence stakeholders. + Responsible for the negotiation, execution and implementation of commercial agreements and related work processes in accordance with the strategies within the commercial area and/or geography. + Use influential leadership to elevate the performance of the workgroup. + Solve complex problems. + May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives. Qualifications + A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or 10 years of relevant working experience or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking. + A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience. + A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. Your Skills + A degree discipline in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, IT, Finance, or Business. + 6+ years of experience in a Commercial, Supply Chain or Business environment. + Procurement: Sourcing experience or relevant knowledge of systems and processes. + Supply Chain Mangement: Logistics modal experience and/or relevant knowledge of industry. + Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
