We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Visual Road Inspector to join our team. As part of the Asset Management team, specifically the Visual Inspection team, you will be responsible for inspecting roads to ensure they meet all safety standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent visual inspection skills, and the ability to document and communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities:
•    Perform regular visual inspections of roads to identify safety hazards or issues, using specific software, norms, and standards.
•    Assess road conditions, including pavement quality, markings, signs, and guardrails, to determine necessary maintenance or repairs.
•    Identify and document road damage or deterioration, such as raveling, potholes, cracks, and other defects.
•    Collaborate with other road inspection personnel and stakeholders to develop and implement road maintenance plans.
•    Prepare and maintain detailed reports on road conditions, inspection findings, and recommendations for maintenance or repairs.

Requirements:
•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
•    Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
•    Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
•    Proficiency in geographic information system (GIS) software (preferably QGIS).

Nice to Have:
•    In-depth knowledge of road structures and pavement distress types (e.g., raveling, cracks, potholes, etc.).
•    Advanced Excel skills, including creating spreadsheets, analyzing data, using pivot tables, and employing formulas and functions (experience with macros and/or VBA programming is a plus).
•    Experience with database programming languages like SQL.
•    Familiarity with additional GIS tools or software beyond QGIS and ESRI.
