RN - Peri Operative Care
Fairview Range is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team in Hibbing, MN. With over 55 physicians, Fairview Range Medical Center has the largest surgical staff on the Iron Range with a variety of surgical services offered in areas such as ENT, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Podiatry, and General Surgery. We are a Level IV trauma center, and perform emergency, inpatient, and outpatient surgeries and procedures. This position is a .6-.8 flex with call. The Peri Op RN provides peri-anesthesia nursing care to patients undergoing operative or other invasive procedures in the Same Day Surgery, PACU and Radiology departments. Strong critical care skills, experience with conscious sedation, and the ability to act quickly in an emergency are some of the attributes needed for this position. This position is 64 hours per two weeks, 8-hour shifts as outlined per the collective bargaining agreement, and weekdays and weekends on call. Internal Posting 7/2/24 through 7/8/24. About this unit: 17 Same Day Surgery cubicles 6 recovery room cubicles 4 operating rooms Average of more than 3000 surgical procedures per year Multidisciplinary care team including Physicians, APPs, CRNAs, RNs, Surgical Techs, Instrument Tech/Unit Assistants Adjacent Pre-Anesthesia Testing department that works collaboratively with anesthestists, surgeons, radiologists, and peri op RNs. Patient population: pediatric to geriatric Keywords: Registered nurse, RN, peri operative, peri-op, surgery Performs a total systems assessment according to established policies (including physical, psychosocial and spiritual data) upon admission, as well as ongoing assessments. Analyzes assessment data, identifies problems and develops the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, significan other and resource personnel. Provides age specific direct patient care in collaboration with all disciplines according to standards of care. Recognizes and reports adverse patient condition to the physician in a timely manner. Required: Current SDS/PACU experience. Current Minnesota RN licensure. Current BLS certification. Current ACLS and PALS certification or obtain within 6 months of hire. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing CPAN 1 year experience in SDS/PACU or 2 years of critical care experience. If no applicants meet the required qualifications, consideration will be given to those with 1 year of medical/surgical/pediatric experience recently (experience within past 6 months).
