This is a full time position and will be providing Occupational Health services such as health, safety, and wellness programs to prevent, treat injuries, and other hazards within an industry environment located in the Roanoke Valley area.


The Occupational Health Nurse is assigned to client sites to deliver health and safety programming to employees for the purpose of promoting and restoring health as well as preventing illness and injury. The Occupational Health Nurse must have or develop a combined knowledge of Occupational Health principles and client business operations in order to effectively identify environmental hazards, promote a safe and healthful work environment, support cost effective operations, and reduce disability claims and Workers' Compensation injuries.

Provides basic first aid according to client company policy for work-related and non-work-related injuries. Conducts thorough post-offer physical examinations and pre-employment drug screens for new employee candidates. Educates employees on preventative measures against occupational hazards, promotes healthy living and working conditions. Provides case management focused on assuring appropriate care, facilitating productivity, and reducing absence from work. Assists departments with identifying, evaluating, and implementing accommodations and return to work options for workers with restricted duty. Manages Workers’ Compensation, short-term disability and long-term disability cases. Assesses health care needs and implements, manages, and promotes interdisciplinary, prevention-oriented, and cost-effective health and safety programs and policies. Provides content expertise to client Environmental Health and Safety, Operations, and Human Resources departments to support development of processes, programs, and services. Contributes to the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance related to actual and potential hazards in the work environment. Maintains employee health records, worker medical files, and OSHA records and reports. Maintains confidentially as required by state and federal guidelines. Participates in work area and equipment inspections for safety compliance. Generates detailed reports on safety conditions, as requested. Conducts research on the effects of workplace exposures, gathering health and hazard data. What We Require:

Education: ASN required, BSN preferred.


Licensure, certification, and/or registration: RN licensure required. Certification in Occupational Health Nursing or Case Management preferred. Must be prepared to pursue and attain client-required certifications.


Life Support: BLS required.


Other Minimum Qualifications: Must be detail oriented, have the ability to multitask and possess great interpersonal skills. Travel to other company locations is required. Must be current with health and safety legislation. Must possess advanced knowledge in public safety and industrial health standards. Must be able to maintain composure and work effectively within groups.
