We would love to have you on our team! **Position Highlights** SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse-LTC utilizes the nursing process to provide direct, professional nursing care for the LTC resident according to established standards, policies, procedures, licensure, and scope of practice. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing for registered nursing. • A minimum of one year of nursing and/or long-term care experience preferred. CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS: • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Iowa. • Must obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire date. • State of Iowa approved child/dependent adult abuse mandatory reporter training within 6 months of hire. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Accurately documents and actualized the nursing process to provide resident care. Performs and documents initial and follow-up assessments as indicated. Assists in developing the resident nursing plan of care. Implements nursing strategies and interventions to attain stated resident outcomes. Performs an ongoing evaluation of the resident’s progress related to expected outcomes. 2. Demonstrates professional practice, knowledge and skills. Serves as charge nurse/preceptor. Uses appropriate locations, channels for communication. Participates in learning experience for students and co-workers. Assures residents rights and serves as a resident advocate. Accountable for timely completion of professional competence. Suggest plan to solve unit level problems and make improvements in the delivery of care and practice of nursing in collaboration with supervisory personnel. Maintains accountability for appropriate delegation and assignment of responsibility. Supervises care provided by unlicensed personnel and LPNs. 3. Provides coordination of services across the continuum of care. Applies psychosocial principles in the delivery of resident care. Includes resident/family education in the delivery of resident care. Collaborates with appropriate multi-disciplinary health care team to promote appropriate utilization of facility services/community services. 4. Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development. Participates in committee activities. Provides constructive feedback to co-workers regarding practice issues. Provides documentation of professional education and shares with staff when appropriate or when asked. Actively seeks appropriate learning opportunities. 5. Complies with all organization policies and procedures. 6. Assists in maintaining adequate/appropriate staff coverage to meet the residents’ needs. 7. Other duties as assigned. 8.
