RN for Cardiac Rehab (FT) - Dillon

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. 

Develops and implements treatment plans per established protocols and physician’s orders. 

Maintains records of patient’s status and progress during Phase I, II and III. 

Conducts patient and client interviews 

Coordinates in conjunction with appropriate staff, educational programs for clients and their families, as needed.  

Assesses clinical and cardiac status of patients and reviews with attending physician and other appropriate staff.  

Determines in conjunction with appropriate staff, contraindications to exercise.  

Develops, supervises and/or provides exercise instructions to patients and clients in Cardiac Rehab Phases II, III and IV in conjunction with appropriate staff.  

Possess in-depth knowledge of monitoring equipment and ECG interpretation, interprets and responds appropriately to dysrhythmias and emergency situations. 

Demonstrates required knowledge to effectively operate various pieces of exercise equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.  

Assists in developing and monitoring departmental Performance Improvement indicators. 

Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families and visitors. 

Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patient and staff. 

Contributes to the overall performance of the department through the precepting of novice employees. 

Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in educational offerings. 

Performs all other duties as required.

 

Qualifications/Training: 

Zero to less than 1 year of related work experience. 

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education: 

Must possess a valid SC license - RN, BLS 

ACLS certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
