Progressive Critical Care Unit Transition Program:
Job Summary:
The staff nurse has the primary responsibility and accountability for the total nursing care of the patients as identified by the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act.
The Progressive Critical Care RN Transition Program is designed for RNs with current BLS certification and a minimum of 1-year inpatient nursing experience who are interested in the progressive critical care department at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
Location: Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, Elmhurst, Illinois
Full Time - Work 72 hours in a 2 week pay period.
Hours: Night Shift - 7:00pm-7:00am with Rotating every 3rd weekend and Holiday rotations.
Orientation: Between 8-12 weeks, dependent on level of previous experience.
Day Shift: All orientation is completed on day shift. Additional classroom instruction/online module completion at the discretion of the PCCU Educator.
Night Shift: First 3-4 weeks orient on day shift, then transition to night shift. Additional classroom instruction/online module completion at the discretion of the PCCU Educator.

Associate Degree or higher in NursingIf Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)Current incumbents with an RN Diploma are grandfatheredORRN Diploma Nurse if position start date is prior to September 1, 2021Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience:
