RN Coordinator Surgery Scheduling

Department: Surgery  

Location: Chelsea hospital

Position Purpose:

The Surgery Scheduling Coordinator will collaborate with other health care professionals, in the coordination of the daily surgery schedule. This individual will demonstrate professional growth and development in assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of the schedule as it applies to the care of the surgical patient population. She/he will consistently demonstrate expert proficiency in working with a complex and dynamic schedule. The scheduling coordinator will serve as a resource to the charge nurses and anesthesia care providers mentoring and supporting newer staff and facilitating communication between these groups to facilitate patient throughput. The scheduling coordinator assumes delegated accountability for operations, surgery scheduling and staffing for a specified period in a specific area from the Nurse Manager. He/she will serve as a role model for evidence based nursing practice, promoting ANA standards of care and Relationship Based Care.

Shift Available: Day  Shift

Status available: Full-time, benefit eligible (80 hours per pay period – every two weeks)

Required Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing

Licensure

Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License

Experience

Minimum of three years staff experience. Three-Five years related practice experience in clinical area.
