Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** GENERAL PURPOSE: Perform clinical aspects of research studies involving infants, children, adults, and families. Participates in ongoing research studies such as phase 1-3 drug studies or observational studies in both pediatric and adult populations. Works independently, utilizing strong interpersonal skills in communicating with study subjects and their families, their health care providers, and other key study personnel. Applicant must have a willingness to develop the logistics of subject enrollment, persistence and flexibility in assuring on-going subject cooperation and good data collection skills. On occasion, requires travel to study subject homes in the Rochester area to enroll potential subjects, obtain required samples and perform study related measures. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Conduct study visits for ongoing clinical research programs including collection of clinical specimens and collection of growth measure. Facilitate or perform urine, stool, saliva, hair, blood collection. Perform specimen processing and storage (training provided). Perform spirometry on children and administer bronchodilator (training provided). + Approach families in the NICU or pregnant patients on the labor and delivery floors for enrollment into various clinical research studies. Discuss details with families and answer any questions. Interact with staff and clinicians within the NICU and OB labor floors. + Data extraction from the electronic medical record and/or data entry into various study specific databases. Attention to detail and knowledge of epic preferred. + Schedule study families for yearly study visits and provided updates to families on what each study visit consists of. Follow up with families about outstanding study requirements such as surveys, samples, and study payments. + Perform blood draws on infants, children ages 1-17 and adults.
