Job Description

You will form part of RMM within the Mass Foundation Cluster which is one of the largest customer-facing business segments in Old Mutual. This role is accountable for translating the Segment People Strategy and business strategy into a Business Unit People Plan. You will partner with BU Executives to deliver the plan and act as an integrator along the whole HC value chain.

Defines and implements the People Plan for the Business Unit (BU) in alignment with the Segment business strategy and Segment People Strategy.

Provides input into the Segment People Strategy.

Partners with BU executive teams to advise on people challenges and on how to drive BU people performance.

Generate requirements and partner with Human Capital colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of services.

Advises on people priorities for the future, using insights from HR Analytics and trends.

Focus primarily on executing strategic activities, such as organisation and leadership development.

Performs strategic resource planning, ranging from succession for the BU through to Transformation impacts.

Manages the deployment of the Human Capital Calendar, and consults in key areas of Human Capital – Talent Management, ER, OD, Performance Management, and Compliance.

Accountable for the customisation and implementation of several practices in the Segment.

Leads BU Exco team on how to respond to change efficiently and effectively.

Advises BU Exco teams on improving employee engagement at all levels and on building a high-performance culture aligned to the overall Segment plans.

Leads the implementation of the Segment Talent and Leadership strategy and plan into the BU ensuring talent and leadership is effectively managed in the BU and grown in order to build a strong leadership and talent pool.

Work with COEs to identify and solution needs of BU workforce.

Accountable for the customisation and implementation of several practices in the BU.

Coaches Divisional heads of BU on their accountability as people leaders.

Drives the use of Workday by line managers to perform their Human Capital responsibilities.

Manages adherence to HR controls and design and implement improvement initiatives to ensure an effective HR risk and control environment.

Manages ER risks and coaches line manager.

Leads BU transformation aligned to targets set out by the Segment.

Effectively manages HR budget reducing HR operational expenses.

Manages an effective HR team within the BU.

Accountable for ensuring that key BU people priorities are met.

Contributes to HR synergies across OML.

This role will also oversee the culture, wellness and OD portfolios within RMM.

Requirements

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree.

A postgraduate degree will be advantageous.

Eight (8) years HR Generalist experience.

1-2 years experience in managing HC professionals.

Experience in working and engaging with Group Executives.

Comfortable delivering within tight deadlines in an agile environment.

Ability to manage complex and highly confidential information.
