Position Purpose

The RMHC Grant Manager is a key leader in facilitating and tracking strategic financial investment in RMHC Chapters around the world. Providing key thought leadership, this role implements and manages a new grant making framework and infrastructure that will provide funds from RMHC Global to local Chapters to build Chapter capacity, catalyze support strategic growth, and deliver greater impact as the Charity works to double the number of families served by 2030 and meet the needs of more families around the world. The Grant Manager will work collaboratively with internal staff, local Chapters, donors, and other partners to design and execute funding opportunities within the new framework that align with RMHC’s strategic priorities and donor intent.

Principle Accountabilities

Reporting to the RMHC Director of Global Resources and US Chapters, the RMHC Grant Manager is responsible for the implementation and day-to-day management of the grant-making process from RMHC Global to RMHC Chapters around the world, ensuring coordination and alignment across all RMHC Global functions. An integral member of the RMHC Field Operations team, this role supports the development of grant concepts and proposals, shapes requests for applications, ensures that grant deliverables are met, budgets and schedules are tracked, collects and aggregates reporting details and impact data, and collaborates with teams across RMHC to ensure the strategic priorities of multiple stakeholders are achieved.

Essential Functions:

Grant Framework Development

Work with the RMHC Field Director of Global Resources and US Chapters and a cross-functional RMHC Global team to develop a new grantmaking framework in line with investment principles.Provide leadership in the strategy and integration of the grant-making framework into RMHC systems, processes, and culture, including the selection of the grant-making platform.Launch the grant framework and maintain the new grantmaking approach across the entire grant-making life cycle (grant development, application review, award, reporting, and grantee support) In line with globally- accepted leading practices and standards.Ensure the framework is regularly reviewed and evaluated to ensure it delivers against objectives. 

Grants Management

Manage a high-volume portfolio of grant opportunities with varying levels of complexity and scope, both donor-directed and competitiveDevelop strong collaborative relationships across departments in RMHC GlobalBuild and leverage programmatic/subject area knowledge to inform effective and efficient grant-making, serving as convener and/or project manager as neededTrack project deliverables and emerging opportunities to ensure that requirements are met and any possible modifications are reviewed in a timely mannerSupport the development of Requests for Applications for grants, grant review processes, Chapter gift agreements, and grant reports. Ensure the efficient review of grant applications and the grantee selection process are in line with grant program principles.Ensure effective communication to the RMHC Chapters regarding grant applications, decisions, Chapter gift agreements, and reporting expectations.Ensure data integrity, consistency, and documentation of grant-making with close attention to detail and leading standards.Refine grant-making processes, policies, and procedures that incorporate new ideas, innovative solutions, and best practices with a commitment to continuous improvement.Educate internal staff, donors, and the network of RMHC local Chapters about the RMHC grant-making process  Lead or engage in special projects/initiatives as neededPerforms other duties as assigned

The expected salary range for this role is $98,140 – $125,130 per year

Qualifications5+ years professional experience and/or education in grants management required. Experience in an organization that makes grants to international partners preferred.Demonstrated excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write application frameworks, reports, and summariesDemonstrated record of success in project management; superb organizational skills and diligent attention to detail, with the ability to plan, track, and complete long-range project deadlines and goals; Exhibit comfort in working under and meeting multiple deadlinesDemonstrated experience communicating and working across teams in a matrixed environment. Must be able to present, discuss and translate complex processes in a way that supports the understanding and needs of different types of audiences. Experience in a federated nonprofit system helpful.Demonstrated ability to work well with staff at all levels; ability to work both independently and within a team environment (departmental and cross-departmental)Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is requiredIntermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
