Walsh is currently seeking a Risk Counsel position in Chicago, IL.
The Risk Counsel oversees and manages litigation and claims within the Company’s insured portfolio. In doing so they work hand in hand with our insurance partners and outside counsel to drive solutions and manage the insured claim portfolio. The Risk Counsel position will also manage first party insurance litigation, including Builder's Risk, Pollution, and Professional Liability claims.

Responsibilities Monitor and oversee all pending litigation which involves insurance coverage including but not limited to General Liability, Auto Liability, Builder's Risk, Pollution, and Professional ClaimsAnalyze claims/litigation to effectively participate in decisions related to resolution strategyManages all vendors involved in the claims processesParticipating in mediations and negotiating settlementsReview and provide analysis on coverage implications of pending matters, including the management of coverage litigation where necessaryEnsure claims are properly documented in Origami Risk Management SystemPerform all legal related tasks to protect the interest of the company and mitigate risk Qualifications Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, license to practice law in good standing in at least one (1) state2-4 years of legal experience, with special consideration for construction related experienceMinimal physical requirements, ability to travel as necessaryWorking in our corporate office in Chicago, IL 5 days per week is requiredSalary Range: $105,000 - $145,000/Yr.The Walsh Group offers competitive wages and benefits, including:
