Job Description SummaryThis critical role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of reporting of revenue recognition for our transactional service lines within assigned geographic regions along with supporting the creation of the Global Revenue CoE. They will act as a subject matter expert for the Advisory, Brokerage, Valuation & Advisory, Global Occupier Services and Asset service lines’ revenue recognition process flows through respective supporting platforms and will be a primary contact for key stakeholders including regional Operational Directors, Finance Controllership Transactional Accountants regarding general system/process questions, provide input on complex contract reviews, troubleshooting issues and developing system improvements.
The role will provide direct support to the Director Revenue Recognition COE and closely work with other senior members of the Finance Department, including the America’s CFO, Controller, Finance Manager and FP&A leads, the Finance Service Center - FSC (BPO) and develop relationships in the global Finance Department. In addition will be expected to work cross functionally with business operations, FP&A, intelligent automation, controllership, and auditors while influencing the development of a common platform within a Global functional organization undergoing significant transformation

Strong analytical skills to analyze revenue generating contracts and determine their impact to the Company’s results and arbitrate on complex contract reviews as needed with operations teams and various global finance counterpartsAbility to leverage understanding of technical matters to ensure proper company-wide application reduce business risk and finding opportunities for application improvementsPrior experience auditing or applying ASC 606 revenue recognition concepts in practiceAbility to operate under challenging time constraints, and the ability to address multiple deliverables simultaneously. Ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with the contractual terms, review the monthly revenue transactions to ensure the P&L and Balance Sheet is correctly statedManage the internal and external audit process and provide leadership and supervision to the revenue recognition teamAbility to lead team in the mitigation of internal control weaknesses and ensures processes have internal controls designed and operating effectively. Experience with large data visualization tools and preparation of summary reportsManage and develop Staff and Senior team of Revenue Recognition Accountants and FSC team in performing contract reviews and creating vision for team members’ career pathExperience with document reader and automation tools UIPath, Indico a plusBeing a role model for how to conduct oneself in a team environment.Demonstrated initiative, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsExperience with financial systems such as: Workday, Salesforce Engage, HFM, SAP, Essbase, or others.Experience with period close procedures including preparation, review and approval manual JE strongly desired.Actively assess opportunities within our business in relationship to technical accounting matters to influence positively business process and results.Perform month end review of revenue to ensure the P&L is correctly stated for each brokerage service line and regionEnsure compliance with all revenue accounting policies and procedures, drive process and system developments with respect to changes in GAAP and develop improvements and efficiencies as requiredDelivery of complex accounting topics depending on audience including training support for various stakeholders including Deal Desk and local commission processors s to ensure compliance with corporate policies and proceduresActively seek opportunities to increase efficiencies and establish stabilityRequirements
B.A. in Accounting, Finance or related fieldCPA qualified preferredExperience and fluent in finance systems (Workday desirable but not essential)5+ years’ post qualified experience in accounting, finance, or accounts receivablePrior people management experienceKnowledge of billing / cash application system or equivalent knowledge of similar type of platformKnowledge of the Real Estate Industry including a familiarity with leasing documents, commission agreements and broker contracts (preferred)Familiar with compliance to Revenue Regulations (ASC 606) and commission controlsStrong written, comprehension and analytical skillsAttention to detailStrong communication, negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skillsAble to work in a high volume, dynamic, deadline driven environment while coordinating and performing multiple tasks simultaneouslyResilience and tenacityCushman & Wakefield provides equal employment opportunity.
