Revenue Audit Training Supervisor

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the training of all Revenue Audit personnel to ensure that they are fully knowledgeable about their job duties and perform those job duties exceptionally well while ensuring the safeguarding of all monetary assets while conforming to internal control policies and procedures established by the Enterprise, as well as training to and demonstrating the GILA WAY.

Essential Duties And Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests. Trains and supervises the Audit staff to ensure that the operations of the revenue cycle is audited and analyzed, and coaches and mentors audit team for professional development. Responsible for overseeing the preparation of training schedules, coordination of the training, and execution of the training plan to new and existing audit staff as needed. Trains and supervises Revenue Audit team members in auditing documentation to ensure transactions are accurate and valid. Assists the Revenue Audit Manager with identifying potential weaknesses in audit functions and performs research to identify solutions to address the weaknesses. Creates and maintains reference guides and training materials of all audit functions and provides guidance to audit team members on audit issues. Performs periodic review of audited documentation to ensure accurate and consistent audits are performed correctly by staff. Assists in the development of new policies and ensures their understanding by staff members in response to organizational and technology changes. Ensures the period-end procedures for the casino operations is completed timely by reconciling revenue audit reports, verifying accuracy of the revenue audit system and preparing reports. Ensures compliance with Title 31 and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) codes. Ensures proper record retention is adhered to according to department’s policies and procedures, minimum control standards, AZ State Compact and government regulations. Undertakes general supervisory responsibilities in the Revenue Audit areas when requested or necessary. Maintains high level of knowledge of all computer software and systems utilized within the revenue audit areas. Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness. Performs other special projects and duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises multiple revenue audit staff on a work shift basis to conduct training.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education And/Or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university preferred. Experience and/or training in Audit, Accounting, Fraud, Risk, Compliance, or other professional investigative or risk-based experience required.   Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), General Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Controls (MICS). Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge and experience in training or facilitating professional learning preferred. Ability to perform the GILA WAY which is as follows;       Greet our guest       Interact positively with our guest       Listen actively to our guest       Appreciate our guest Must possess strong attention to detail and excellent guest service skills, strong telephone etiquette, and be a self-starter with the ability to follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral. This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities Important Notes
