ReStore Manager
Habitat
The ReStore Manager is responsible for the overall business operations and performance of the ReStore with a focus on acquisition, marketing and sale of quality donated goods. This position supervises staff and reports to the CEO.
The expected starting annual salary range for this position is $55,400 - $65,400. New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity and the budgeted amount for the role. The full annual salary range for this position is $55,400 - $75,400.
Responsibilities and duties:
General Responsibilities
Hold chief administrative responsibility for the Restore.
Participate in the development and implementation of short-and long-term strategies, goals and objectives.
Supervise the Restore volunteer staff and Restore Assistant Manager.
Schedule and coordinate volunteer staff to ensure store is adequately staffed with employees and volunteers for remainder of the scheduled Restore hours.
Monitor and evaluate staff and Volunteer performances through yearly reviews in coordination with the CEO
Enforce adherence to safety practices by all staff, volunteers, customers, and donors in store
Planning and Organization
Plan and implement public relations store events with the assistance of the Restore. committee and CEO.
Develop relationships with existing and potential donors to increase quality and quantity of donations in order to maintain full inventory.
Track movement of building materials and re-store retail areas as needed.
Identify gaps/problems/concerns with donation for re-store.
Manage Day-to-Day Activities Within the Store
Work with ReStore Operations Manager to recruit for volunteers.
Assess knowledge and skills of volunteers, assign them to jobs and train them as necessary.
Assist customers; assist with pricing; make and record sales; assisting with merchandise; clarifying policies; resolving disputes; answering phone.
Work with other staff to maintain a smooth-running operation and resolve conflicts.
Monitor equipment and building condition and make recommendation for maintenance and repairs.
Safety
Organize safety meetings with all staff.
Ensure that all policies are followed as outlined in safety manual and update the manual as needed for changes in policy, law, or circumstances.
Identify safety hazards and eliminate them or bring them to the attention of the CEO to mitigate them.
Maintain entire facility in compliance with HFHI/state/local laws/OSHA regulations that apply to staff and volunteer activities, store safety, box truck/equipment use
Maintain Records in Conjunction with CEO.
Post expenditures and receipts on a daily basis.
Prepare and make bank deposits.
Process charges and credits.
Maintain security and ensure sufficient cash is on hand to make change.
Create and keep inventory of sales items and items donated for HFH homes.
Convert sales information to tonnage saved from landfills (i.e. waste diversion information)
Audit for MSD sheets, fire safety and volunteer training.
Work with volunteer coordinator to ensure thank you notes and receipts are issued for donated items.
Provide monthly report of sales activities, expenses, projects and public relations activities for inclusion in monthly Board of Directors information package.
Restore Manager is responsible for delivering budgeted sales and earnings. The Manager is responsible for developing new sales strategies, replenishing inventory as needed.
Skills and Experience
A minimum five years’ experience managing people in a retail, restaurant, hardware, construction, or industrial setting required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with groups, individuals, and people of varied cultures, ability to speak Spanish beneficial
A proven history of building cooperative, mutually beneficial/long-term relationships
A demonstrated ability in leading, training, managing and motivating staff and volunteers in a consistent manner
Ability and capacity to adapt to rapidly changing conditions/situations, prioritize, make quick sound, positive decisions and anticipate, address and solve problems calmly
Experience in making, soliciting, and securing donor contacts
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and forms of modern communication technology
Creative and innovative merchandising and marketing ideas and skills
