Responsive Materials Planner
The Nike Global Materials Planning & Sourcing organization optimizes material supply. The team seeks innovative collaborators to advance its mission to revolutionize material supply planning and sourcing by investing in People, Process, and Technology to drive efficiency and flexibility across the end-to-end supply chain. WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH This role will report into the Responsive and Materials Planning Manager, and work closely with the Global Materials Planning & Sourcing team. Some of the critical stakeholders that this role will work with include: Partner/Materials Manufacturing Management, Supply and Inventory Planning, Technology and Analytics, NVS ( Nike Value Stores), Finance and Tier 2 Materials Partners. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR The Responsive Material Planner is responsible for supporting our Footwear and Apparel business. This role’s primary responsibility is leading our apparel excess management, and footwear lead time exception processes, and the communication of recommendations to mitigate excess materials. This role will be balanced between tactical support and partnering with the Global Materials Planning team and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement new strategies for a responsive, flexible materials supply chain. This individual will be an important part of the Global Material Planning & Sourcing team working with our Materials Supply Chain (MatSC) partner groups, as well as functions external to MatSC. Partnering within the Materials Planning & Sourcing ecosystem, this individual will develop and implement capabilities across the functions to meet goals across our key pillars of Responsiveness, Resiliency, and Sustainability. This role is looking for a proactive, thoughtful self-starter who embraces and leads change through strategic, innovative solutions while driving clarity and accountability to manage a dynamic materials supply chain environment. Leadership Capabilities are as follows: + Instills Trusts + Acts with Courage + Embraces and Leads Change + Fosters Effective Teamwork + Values Differences + Communicates Vision and Purpose + Thinks Strategically + Cultivates Innovation + Drives Clarity The candidate will bring: + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training + A minimum of 2 years directly relevant work experience, preferably 3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Planning (Supply, Demand, Materials, etc.), Manufacturing and/or Logistics functions + Understanding of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) basics, Demand, Production and Capacity Management, including key metrics. Ability to interpret driving factors and implement corrective actions + Understanding of Manufacturing best practices and key metrics. Ability to evaluate and recommend improvements in manufacturing strategies to meet inventory and service objectives + Experience in creating tools to support analytics of key business performance metrics + Experience working in a diverse, cross-functional environment and fostering a culture of belonging throughout + Effective communication skills, including in-person, written and via phone + Effective presentation skills, both visual & oral + Results-oriented mentality for prioritizing work, managing upward and downward as necessary + Proficiency with Microsoft office suite + Passion for Nike products and sport PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS + Understanding of manufacturing processes (not necessarily Footwear or Apparel) + Experience aligning cross-cultural, virtual teams WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON Leads, facilitates, and coordinates cross functionally to execute the business: + Collaborate with key business partners to provide clear and timely, material availability. + Analyze materials demand, executing mitigation processes to ensure on-time production of materials from key vendors. + Ability to drive data-driven decision-making + Represent Materials Planning as a subject matter expert (SME) Partners with Materials Responsive and Inventory Planning Manager, Global Material Planning & Sourcing Leadership team to create future capabilities: + Develop and implement new strategies for responsive, flexible materials supply chain to drive on-time delivery of materials. + Identify, scope and partner with Tech & Analytics teams to develop new analytics and/or systems capabilities.
