Description du poste

Agir comme agent de liaison médical scientifique entre le département des affaires médicales et du développement de produits de BMS, le département d’accès au marché, les unités commerciales et les leaders d'opinion en cardiologie. Nous recherchons de préférence un candidat(e) situé à Vancouver ou en Alberta.

Responsabilités clés et tâches principales:

Rencontrer les principaux investigateurs et leaders d'opinion, établir d'excellentes relations avec eux et se tenir au courant de leurs recherches et de leurs intérêts scientifiques.

S'assurer que les données sur les produits du « pipeline » de BMS sont transmises efficacement et en temps opportun par l'entremise de présentations médicales & d’échanges scientifiques. Servir de personne-ressource stratégique dans la communauté médicale.

Soutenir les échanges scientifiques concernant les traitements en cardiologie clés, les nouvelles découvertes et pratiques cliniques, les tendances en matière de recherche et les débats et principes scientifiques actuels.

Recueillir, analyser et signaler les renseignements médicaux (incluant une intelligence compétitive) qui pourraient avoir des répercussions sur les plans de développement, les essais cliniques, les stratégies, les tactiques et les programmes de formation médicale de BMS.

Contribuer à l’élaboration du plan stratégique régional en collaboration avec l’équipe de vente à structure matricielle et assumer la responsabilité de la mise en oeuvre de tactiques et d’activités. Contribuer aux réunions régionales.

Contribuer à identifier les études de recherche commanditées par l’investigateur (ISRs).

Collaborer avec les équipes de recherche clinique canadienne et internationale (RCO) afin de soutenir les essais cliniques, s’il y a lieu.

Se tenir au courant des tendances en matière de traitements en cardiologie clés et des nouvelles découvertes cliniques et s'assurer de transmettre l'information aux services de BMS concernés.

Assister aux différentes réunions de la compagnie et aux réunions scientifiques

S’assurer que tous les effets indésirables sont signalés de manière rapide et efficace selon les politiques et directives de BMS. 

Relève du Chef responsable de la liaison médicale, Cardiologie.

Formation:

D. Pharm./Ph. D. en sciences de la vie/doctorat en médecine, au moins 2 années d'expérience en science biomédicale ou dans le domaine pharmaceutique, de l'information sur les médicaments ou de la recherche clinique, ou dans une autre industrie connexe. Une maîtrise en sciences de la vie/santé ou l'équivalent pourrait être pris en considération si le candidat possède une solide expérience dans le domaine requis.

Compétences:

Excellent esprit critique en cardiologie

Capacité à transmettre efficacement, tant oralement que par écrit, de l'information scientifique ou médicale à divers auditoires comprenant à la fois des clients internes et externes.

Connaissance de la recherche clinique en cardiologie y compris les bonnes pratiques cliniques ainsi que les normes éthiques, gouvernementales et réglementaires concernant la recherche clinique et l'industrie pharmaceutique

Capacité à établir d'excellentes relations avec les clients internes et externes ainsi qu'avec les leaders d'opinion, les investigateurs et les autres professionnels de la santé en cardiologie, les groupes de patients, les gouvernements, les assureurs et les pharmaciens.

Capacité reconnue à travailler efficacement dans une équipe inter-fonctionnelle.

Capacité à comprendre et si besoin à formuler l'information médicale/sur la recherche/scientifique pour tenir compte des contraintes et des exigences particulières de l'industrie pharmaceutique.

Aptitudes exceptionnelles pour les relations interpersonnelles et le travail en équipe.

Capacité à gérer de multiples projets et les éventuels problèmes inattendus.

Solides valeurs morales et éthiques.

Forte motivation.

Doit être prêt à voyager entre 60% du temps, et ce, principalement dans les provinces de l’ouest et doit avoir un permis de conduire valide.

Capacité à communiquer en anglais tant oralement que par écrit.

Job Description

Acts as a scientific liaison between Cardiology professionals and internal BMS stakeholders through medical exchanges related to BMS products and associated therapeutic areas. We are preferably looking for a candidate located in Vancouver or Alberta.

Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:

Meets and develops strong rapport with Cardiology Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and maintain knowledge of their clinical practice, needs and interests.

Ensures that data on BMS pipeline products is appropriately communicated in an efficient and timely manner through scientific exchanges.

Collects Medical insights & competitive intelligence.

Provides input into the Regional Field Medical plan

Plans, organizes and executes Regional Medical activities in collaboration with head office and field matrix teams

Provides clinical trials support in collaboration with Regional Clinical Operations 

Helps to identify Investigator-Sponsored Research Trials (ISRs) as part of strategy development for the therapeutic area in Canada.

Keeps abreast of key Cardiology treatment trends and emerging clinical science and ensures that this information is shared with appropriate BMS departments.

Ensure that all adverse drug events are reported in a timely and efficient manner as per BMS Policies & Directives.

Attends company and scientific meetings.

Reports to MSL Manager, cardiology

Education:

Pharm.D./M,D./Ph.D. in life sciences. Two or more years of experience in biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical, drug information, clinical research or other related industry. A Masters Degree in life sciences or health or equivalent could be considered if the candidate has a strong clinical experience or background in cardiology.

Competencies:

Strong scientific acumen especially in cardiology

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, scientific/medical information to a diverse audience of both internal and external customers.

Is able to establish strong rapport with internal and external customers including Cardiologists, investigators, other health care providers, patient groups and pharmacists

Understands clinical research in the field of Cardiology including Good Clinical Practices and ethical, governmental and regulatory requirements as they relate to clinical research and to the pharmaceutical industry as well.

Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.

Has the ability to understand and frame medical / research / scientific in relation to the specific constraints and requirements of the pharmaceutical industry.

Superior interpersonal and team-working skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and unexpected issues that may arise.

Strong moral and ethical values.

Strong motivation.

Expected to travel 60 % of the time with focus in Western provinces and must have a valid driver's license

Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English
