Position Summary
The Respiratory Care Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of other therapists within the department, including competency reviews, and evaluation of skills. He/She will act as the department manager in the manager’s absence.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Works in conjunction with the department manager and Human Resources in interviewing, training, on boarding, transfers, promotions and employee relations concerns.
2. Assists in operational duties to include contributing information for employee reviews, implementation of new processes or products, checks productivity in the matrix, assesses quality of patient care with competencies, audits for patient care service (engagement), resolves problems or redirects to manager as necessary, and identify process improvements.
3. Keeps members of the healthcare team apprised of patient’s conditions by participating in treatment rounds, gaining approval for treatment changes, and evaluating results.
4. Identifies, collects, and reports relevant statistical data to staff.
5. Provides life-saving therapies by responding to various code alerts.
6. Assists in promoting community education through various community projects.
7. Maintains a safe operation of respiratory care services equipment by adhering to governmental and hospital safety regulations, evaluate new equipment and techniques, assist in maintaining inventory of equipment, ensures regular preventative maintenance, troubleshoots malfunctions, and arranges for repairs.
8. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by assisting with establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
9. Updates respiratory therapy job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.
10. Promotes intra and inter departmental cooperation and positive morale.
11. Responsible for departmental operations in the absence of the manager and delegates as necessary.
12. Able to perform all duties of a Respiratory Therapist and assists Respiratory Therapists/Leads as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience within an inpatient respiratory care setting preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: RRT, licensed in the state of Washington required. American Heart Association BLS for healthcare provider required until ACLS & PALS are obtained. ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred, required within 1 year.

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $35.15 - $50.60 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
