Specifically, the Resource Management Strategy Lead manages a team that implements practical, seamless processes and systems to support resource allocation and planning that the business trusts and utilizes. They support all key business functions associated with managing the supply and demand of consultants for client engagements. They deliver utilization and forecasting insights that drive strategic business decisions and meet organizational business objectives. They also partner with other operational functions to drive future workforce planning.

Key to success in this role is one’s ability to establish and maintain credibility with practice / internal teams, develop and maintain a deep understanding of business offerings and effectively communicate at all levels throughout the organization. This position reports to the Corporate Vice President of Resource Management and has direct supervisory responsibility for a team of Resource Managers. This position interacts directly with business leaders and employees, Human Capital, Operations, IT and Procurement personnel.

Duties & Responsibilities:  

Successfully solution critical staffing challenges with senior leadership through creative staffing solutions and alternatives in a timely manner, considering engagement requirements and staff developmental goals 

Build strong understanding of capabilities, products and delivery methodology in your assigned business units to match the right talent with the right project at the right time 

Host regular staffing calls to coordinate integrated and cross-capability staffing solutions 

Maximize utilization in assigned business unit by regularly monitoring forecasts and bench resources and offering creative solutions to optimize capacity / reduce availability  

Monitor pipeline, track demands from sold projects and participate in the forecasting process to help drive understanding of the business demand drivers 

Develop proficiency in the resource management systems / tools to efficiently generate reports and provide analyses on key resource management data 

Manage business unit level reporting and utilization analyses, providing insights to inform strategic business decisions  

Interact regularly with senior management in human capital, sales, staffing and business review meetings  

Collaborate cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition and Contingent Worker teams on future workforce needs  

Lead strategic workforce planning activities for assigned business unit  

Collaborate with central RMO to design, test and lead change management efforts on process and technology changes with your assigned business units  

Provide leadership, mentorship and operational support to team of Resource Managers 

Play an active role in the cultivation and growth of the overall Resource Management team through culture, team development, recruiting and training initiatives  

Maintain appropriate level of confidentiality on sensitive employment matters and performance history of staff  

Collaborate with other members on the Resource Management team to staff needs across the enterprise 

Participate as an active member of the Resource Management team, identifying and deploying continual process improvement and standardization across the enterprise 

Any other duties required by the Corporate Vice President of Resource Management to support overall resource management functions  

Qualifications:  

The ideal candidate for this role has the right blend of professional experience and skills to support a dynamic and fast-paced team in a critical operations role. They are solution-oriented, with an exceptional client service mentality and consultative mindset.  

Huron requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to this position or equivalent work experience 

5+ years of related experience in resource management, HR, talent acquisition or staffing required; professional services experience strongly preferred  

Demonstrable leadership experience managing and coaching people 

High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, utilizing intermediate to advanced functions and data aggregation / analysis techniques 

Experience with PowerBI, Visio, Smartsheets and SharePoint is preferred, but not required 

Experience with Workday is preferred, but not required 

Strong technical skills with the demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master new systems 

Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to set up systems to easily recall important details 

Ability to multi-task and appropriately set / manage priorities 

Demonstrated ability to take ownership of existing processes, systems and relationships and identify future process improvements to enable increased productivity, efficiency, and quality 

Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to develop relationships of trust and confidence quickly and carefully across both internal and external stakeholders at all levels across an organization 

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and manage conflict 

Ability to think critically to resolve problems with creative and effective solutions 

Exhibit an analytical mind, a strong intellectual curiosity 

Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, while also being an exceptional collaborator 

Interest in working in a dynamic setting and flexibility to manage time sensitive priorities

The estimated base salary range for this job is $105,000-$145,000.  The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy.  Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $120,750-$166,750. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
