We are seeking an experienced and energetic Reservoir Engineer to join our team.  This person will work with a multi-disciplinary team responsible for estimation, classification and reporting of APA’s Egypt reserves. 

Position Duties will include but are not limited to:  

Support reserves and production forecasting of company assets in Egypt western desert (operated and non-operated). 

Establish and maintain effective collaborative working relationships across the company 

Assess technical evaluations and reservoir characterization of company assets 

Review recommendations for well locations, well spacing, completion design, and other means to optimize well performance and development efficiency 

Maintain field development plans and integrate into reserves projections along with identification of upside opportunities and downside risks. 

Experience with or demonstrated ability to learn conventional reservoir analysis 

Knowledge of SEC reserves guidelines 

Conduct reserve estimation and classification in compliance with SEC standards  

Proper application of PRMS for risk assessment 

Maintain up-to-date and auditable reserves database 

Prepare quarterly reserves summary and reporting 

Document and underpin internal and external audit requests 

Demonstrate proficiency in reservoir engineering and economic analysis 

Analyze well production data, pressure data & reservoir performance to assess recoverable reserves 

Perform decline curve analysis, volumetric analysis, and material balance studies  

Collaborate with geologists and production engineers to integrate subsurface data into reserve evaluations 

 

Qualifications & Experience

BS in engineering discipline with 10+ years of petroleum engineering experience, with minimum 5 years specific to reserves evaluation .

Must have 10+ years relevant industry experience working primarily with conventional reservoirs

Proficiency in classical reservoir engineering analyses such as decline curve forecasting and pressure transient analysis; reservoir simulation experience a plus 

M&A background a plus 

Experience working on an asset team as a development engineer a necessity, with the ability to run well and project economics 

Excellent communication and presentation skills 

Working knowledge of Omnira (Mosaic) 

ARIES, PHDWin, or similar proficiency preferred 

Advance proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) 

Understanding of SQL or SQL experience preferred 

RTA familiarity (IHS Harmony or similar) required 

PTA familiarity (KAPPA - SAPHIR) required 

Analytics tool experience (Spotfire, PowerBI, or similar) 
Ability to prepare and document business processes 

Project management skills to coordinate cross functional disciplines (e.g. geology, drilling, completions, marketing, land, accounting, etc.) 

Excellent project management skills 

Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely 

Strong communicator with excellent coordination skills
