Position Information We are seeking a Research Technician I, under general supervision, to perform entry level, semi-skilled, technical support research work involving performance of routine tasks for the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Lubbock (http://lubbock.tamu.edu/) . Responsibilities: + Assist senior staff members in preparing, designing and managing field plots, weed control, watering and herbicide, insecticide and fertilizer applications + Collects field data, processes samples and compiles data + Helps with pollination for summer and winter nurseries + Assist with seed preparation for field trials and breeding nursery + Operates and maintains equipment. + Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Two years of related experience. + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Other Requirements: + Ability to lift moderately heavy objects. Ability to exert heavy force. Work beyond normal business hours and/or work on weekends.
