Job Description

  

Performs technical research tasks in support of quantitative and qualitative projects in areas such as optics, lasers and photonics, nanotechnology, environmental testing, energy, or related fields with minimum oversight requirement. Identifies data sources and collects, organizes, and measures data in a manner that ensures quality control. Performs validation testing and interprets results for reporting. Keeps detailed logs of ongoing trials/tests. Responsibilities may include field research, equipment set-up and process troubleshooting.

 

Job Summary:

As part of the team, the successful candidate will have responsibility for processing III- V wafers in a cleanroom environment.  Process could include photo lithography, wet and dry etch, thin film deposition and metrology. Candidate will qualify tools and processes, and process wafers per instructions, digital or paper. They will run material based on both POR methods as well as experimental flows. Candidate will characterize wafers and devices using various metrology like ellipsometry, profilometer, optical microscopes, laser confocal microscopes, interferometers etc. They will also need to co-ordinate the processing requirements with different relevant stakeholders to ensure efficient cycle times. As part of process development, hands-on wafer fabrication and characterization of pilot lots is required.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Establish feasibility of new processes with hands-on processing of pilot lots on production equipment

·        Characterize results using quantitative metrology tools

·        Optimize established processes

·        Document methods and workflows in MES-ready format

·        Prepare training materials and train technicians on newly developed R&D flows

·        Collaborate with device physicists, other research technicians, and process development engineers to participate in overall product R&D cycle   

 

Job Qualifications:

·          High School Diploma or equivalent experience in related technical discipline required

·        6+ years of related experience desired

·        Computer skills desired – Word, Excel & Powerpoint

·        Ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English

·        Ability to use inspection equipment (microscopes, interferometers), semiconductor fabrication equipment, and wet bench chemistry

·        Direct experience with key wafer fabrication processes is necessary

·        Familiarity and/or strong desire to learn microelectronic/semiconductor and MEMS fabrication techniques

Salary Range:

$58,100.00-$77,400.000
