About the Department

The Laboratory is currently investigating the underlying mechanisms by which sleep apnea affects brain function related to learning and memory.


Job Summary

The Research Technician will provide basic technical support activities related to scientific research projects. Complies with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Assists in drafting presentations on research findings.

Responsibilities

Works with rodents, histological samples.

Prepares solutions.

Orders laboratory supplies.

Assists with data collection and performs analyses.

Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.

Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.

Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.


Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.


Certifications:

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field.


Experience:

​Rodent behavioral testing experience.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills.
