Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist II for NJMS-Microbiology. This position is under direction, is responsible for the management of a medium-sized laboratory area. Designs and conducts highly specialized, technical research.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: Assists in the establishments of performance standards as well as the selection of methodology and instrumentation. Performs various research and technical operations independently or as assigned, followed by appropriate reports, recommendations and conclusions, relating to Plasmodium biology and host infection pathways. Assists with the instructing and training of students, fellows, lower-level professionals and technicians in laboratory technicians, instrumentation, etc. to develop the skills necessary to perform the required functions. Assists with the preparation of proposals, formal applications and justifications for grant applications.
