Job Summary
The role is intended to operate on a pre-doc model, with the Research Specialist remaining in the role for one or two years before pursing graduate studies, although this can be extended by mutual agreement.
Responsibilities
Provides technical and administrative support for an assigned legal research project.
Keeps research and grant records, and completes various forms related to grants or IRB request.
Develops or amends research or study protocols.
Builds, cleans and manages data sets.
Configures software used in data collection and assessment.
Discovers new data sources and cleans/prepares data for faculty use.
Applies research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge relevant to administer a research project.
Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates.
Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.
Assists in drafting presentations on research findings.
Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
Previous experience conducting statistical analysis strongly preferred.
Preferred Competencies
Proficiency in Excel, Stata and R.
Work independently and efficiently.
Strong knowledge of extraction, transformation, loading and manipulation of large data sets and databases.
Balance multiple projects.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
