Research Specialist, Clinical- (Contractual-C1)

The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine Department of Pathology is currently seeking a Research Specialist, Clinical

The mission of the Department of Pathology is to increase the knowledge and understanding of disease process mechanisms. Through our focus in the key areas of cancer, infectious disease, neuropathology, new prognostic and diagnostic tools, immunology, genomics, tumor biology, animal models, and biodefense, we maximize our research efforts by encouraging both independent and collaborative research opportunities. We remain dedicated in our pursuit.

The Research Specialist, Clinicalwill act as a research specialist in a lab and hospital/clinic setting, recruiting subjects for studies, drawing blood, and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Recruit and screen subjects for research studies. Explain study to participants and enroll them in the studies.Perform and help direct studies and/or project(s). Develop, recommend, modify and implement policies and procedures and/or methods for clinical research.Perform clinical research activities including data collection, data entry, data verification, data analysis, compliance and clinical relevance of data. Conduct library research and contributes to the preparation and writing of research findings for publication of journal articles and grant proposals.Perform administrative duties.Participate in the design of research studies.Complete adverse event reports, case report forms and other records documenting activities such as treatment and medication received.Perform independent project(s) and participate in the design of research studies. Compile, analyze, and interpret research data using various relevant computer software applications.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a scientific field of study related to the research of the clinical setting.
Experience: Three (3) years clinical research including two (2) years in the relevant research specialization.
Other: May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.

Hiring Range: $29.73/hr-35.48/hr
