Unique duties:
We are seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to support cutting-edge research projects in the area of Reproductive Sciences by applying advanced computational techniques to analyze and interpret large-scale biological data. The position will work closely with Principal investigators in a Research Center to design and perform data analysis strategies, analyze genomic, transcriptomic, and other high-throughput data, and provide actionable insights to drive research forward. With the assistance of the Principal Investigators, find and write research grants with the goal of obtaining research grant funding. Analyze high-throughput biological data, such as DNA sequencing, RNA sequencing, or proteomics datasets. Apply statistical methods to identify patterns, associations, and variations within biological datasets. Translate raw biological data into biological meaning by identifying gene functions, pathways, or mutations related to diseases. Create, maintain, and query large biological databases (e.g., GenBank, protein databases, or custom repositories). Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring compatibility, accessibility, and accurate annotation. Use computational models to explore system dynamics or predict biological responses under varying conditions. Create clear and insightful visualizations to represent complex biological data, aiding interpretation and communication with non-computational scientists. Write research papers, technical reports, and provide presentations that bridge the gap between data science and biology. Generate and/or validate hypotheses by leveraging computational modeling and statistical testing. Educate researchers, students, or laboratory staff on bioinformatics tools, databases, or computational analysis techniques.
