IDC is seeking a Research Director, RFI/RFP Management

We’re building a team of analysts as a part of an exciting new venture at IDC. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Research Director to help technology executives shape and optimize their RFI/RFP approach in the enterprise software domain.  Are you able to share insights and recommendations to tech executives to help develop and manage an RFP process to ensure the optimal vendor is selected? This position will be central to developing a gold standard approach and insights to help technology executives confidently and quickly decide on the best vendor to drive optima business outcomes for their critical software investment decisions.

Responsibilities Create action-oriented research for technology executives on sourcing strategies, and how best to manage the RFI/RFP process.Build best practice frameworks for ‘tips-and-tricks’ for setting up and managing RFIs and RFPs.Develop an ongoing strong understanding of the latest software trends and vendor strategies, especially the enterprise applications domain (across finance, procurement, HR, collaboration, CRM, ERP, analytics, AI and security).Be at the forefront of developing industry best practices for software vendor selections as it relates to the RFI/RFP space.Collaborate with the research, technology and product teams to plan, develop, and execute the production of research content for our digital platform.Develop a detailed research agenda and schedule that has a clear set of milestones for the short, medium and long term – but is also dynamic and will need to be updated on a very regular basis. Qualifications 10 + years of pertinent technology industry experience as an sourcing professional, consultant or industry analyst.Bachelors Degree required, Master's degree preferredExcellent communication skills both in written and verbal form. A strong comfort level with writing is an essential for success in this position. Strong research and Investigational skills required.An analytical mind with a strong desire to uncover trends and patterns through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research.Comfortable using Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables) to analyze survey data.Demonstrable track record and passion for driving change and doing things differently.The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, collaborative, and decisive.

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $150,000 and $180,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
