Research/Data Analysis Assoc. **PsychoGenics** is a preclinical CRO with expertise in central nervous system (CNS) and orphan disorders. We are looking for a highly motivated Researcher who can use, edit, and maintain our custom data processing software for our EEG group. The candidate must also work in a lab setting and will handle and work with rodents. The successful candidate will work in a team of scientists and researchers supporting preclinical studies using rodent models. The candidate must be capable of working both across teams and independently. The candidate will have support and training for the laboratory work from other EEG staff and will have support on the programming side from our Data Sciences team. The candidate will work with all senior staff in the EEG group and will work closely with the VP, Translational Neuroscience on developming the custom software to perform additional functions and analyses. **This is a fully onsite position in Paramus, NJ.** **Main Responsibilities:** This is a shared/hybrid position that will have approximately 50% in vivo lab work and 50% computer-based data analyses duties. For the in vivo work, tasks in rodents can include: + Test article dosing using various routes of administration (IP, SC, IV, PO). + Collecting body weights in animals with implants and that are tethered. + Tissue collection (anatomical dissection of brain region, along with peripheral organs and muscles). + Perform routine animal handling, care and husbandry as required to facilitate EEG experiments including taking body weights. + Record and manage all procedures, data and notes in a labortory notebook. For the data analyses work, tasks will include: + Compile and analyze EEG data, including sleep-scoring, seizure detection and spectral analysis. + Use custom made software (MATLAB and Python) to process scored EEG records. + Graph results and perform statistical analyses (part of the custom software). + Work with the Data Sciences team and the VP, Translational Neuroscience to solve problems and add analytical capabilities. General responsibilities: + Communicate in a clear and timely manner to other lab personnel about any issues that arise in the lab or other animal rooms. + Assist team members with any projects that require assistance including surgeries, dosing and data analysis. + Must work well with staff at all levels from beginning RAs through senior management. **Qualifications:** + 1-3 years of laboratory experience with rodents. + Bachelor's degree in the biological scienes or related field or equivalent experience. + Programming experience in MATLAB and Python. + Experience with statistical analyses. + Desire and ability to learn new skills and to have an inquisitive mind. + Ability to work well in a group atmosphere as well as independently. + Strong organization, multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills. + High level of commitment, reliability, and excellent motiviation to perform and to learn. + Able to comprehend and comply with SOPs and IACUC regulations, to follow safety and quality assurance protocols, and to question and/or report any deviations to study protocols. + Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Rodent handling skills and dosing experience (IP, SC, PO, etc.). + Experience with stereotaxic surgery in rodents. + Experience with EEG recording and/or analyses. + Experience with basic pharmacology and drug preparations. **Total Rewards Plan** PsychoGenics offers competitive performance-based compensation, comprehensive benefits, and career development opportunities.
