Job Description:
Baptist Health is looking for a Research Contracts Specialist to join our team in Lexington
Under the direction of the Research Finance Manager, the Research Contracts Specialist performs contract management services for funded and unfunded clinical research performed at Baptist Health in association with, but not limited to, pharmaceutical/biotechnology corporations, federal agencies, foundations and other sponsoring entities.
Essential Duties:
Reviews, revises, processes, negotiates, and provides regular status updates on all clinical research contracts as delegated and instructed by the Research Finance Manager.
Acts as a liaison between Baptist Health and external organizations.
Performs initial, detailed review and editing of all assigned contracts.
Remits revisions to external organizations and negotiates in good faith.
Assesses contract payment terms to ensure optimal payment timelines and conditions.
Finalizes contracts and coordinates the signature of contracts by needed Principal Investigators and/or institution officials.
Ensures organization of executed contracts and manage/review contract amendments as needed.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree preferably in the field of healthcare administration, finance or associate degree in paralegal studies with 3–5-year experience required.
Desired Qualifications: Juris Doctorate
1-3 years related work experience, preferably in contract administration (Experience should be in a hospital or academic research institution. Preference to be given to candidates with contract management/negotiation experience and/or health law experience)
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines governing both clinical and non-clinical research preferred.
