Research Associate - Health Centers - Hybrid

We seek a Full-Time Research Associate to join the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX. In this position, you will facilitate training and provide technical support to the clinical practices participating in a randomized controlled trial testing facilitator-driven implementation strategies to increase provider recommendations and HPV vaccination rates in predominantly Latino-serving Federally Qualified Health Centers in Texas. This position will require a personal vehicle to travel to the various study sides in Texas (Houston, Galveston, and El Paso). This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office/ 2 remote).

Position Summary:

The Research Associate facilitates trainings and provides technical support to the clinical practices participating in a randomized controlled trial testing facilitator-driven implementation strategies to increase provider recommendations and HPV vaccination rates in predominantly Latino serving Federally Qualified Health Centers in Texas.

We seek to hire an experienced individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing the support needed to appropriately manage vaccinations and improve HPV vaccination uptake. 

 This position offers a hybrid schedule with the flexibility of remote and in-office work at UTHealth Houston, Texas Medical Center, Houston, TX. It also involves community work with travel to study sites in Houston, Galveston, San Antonio, and El Paso, TX.

 Position Key Accountabilities:

Works with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians and administrators to develop strategies and supports practice enhancements to facilitate system-level changes to improve performance Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of vaccine management workflows. Trains health care professionals and staff to disseminate accurate information on HPV and to make strong recommendations for HPV vaccinations to patients and parents. Guides clinic leaders regarding ImmTrac2 and VFC requirements.   Conducts assessments of current clinical processes and reports findings. Maintains all records and documentation required related to areas of responsibility; and reviews documentation to ensure compliance with applicable requirements. Works with staff to assist with development and testing of reports and information systems; prepares reports and conducts analyses of quality care performance; assures appropriate tracking of program participants. Provides overall coordination and management of a provider and staff education program in order to ensure the achievement of its assigned goals and objectives. Schedules deliveries of teaching aids, materials, and other necessary education tools in a timely manner to ensure the desired educational and training services. Coordinates ongoing continuous improvement efforts related to areas of responsibility noted above. Communicates on-going metrics, areas of success, opportunities for improvement, and recommended plans of action to leadership.  Assists in the preparation and writing of research reports, manuscripts, papers and grant proposals for presentation and publication.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Considerable knowledge in basic and sophisticated equipment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. 

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field with three (3) years of related research experience, including experience in a lead research role; or
Master’s degree in a related field with one (1) year of related research experience, including experience in a lead research role; or
Doctorate degree.

Minimum Experience:

Years of experience varies based on education level. Previous experience working with federally qualified health centers or clinic practices is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological, or radioactive agents.

Residency Requirement:
