Job Description:
The Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology and the Center for Translation Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas invite a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to our research in the field of translation and interdisciplinary studies. This is a one-calendar-year position that has the potential of renewal for a second year. The ideal candidate will have expertise in translation studies and digital translation practices. The candidate should be guided by “vordenken”: thinking toward the future.
The Center for Translation Studies was founded in 1978 when the field of translation studies was in its infancy and even the idea of literary translation was still met with much resistance among other disciplines within the humanities. Over four decades later, the translation community represents a vibrant multicultural and interdisciplinary space within literature and the humanities. The four pillars of the Center—education, research, publishing, and community engagement—all serve to promote and foster innovations in the field of translation studies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D in a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience:
PhD in Literary Translation, Translation Studies, Literary Studies or Digital Humanities.
