The University of Miami is currently seeking a Research Associate 1 to work at Soffer Clinical Research Center in Miami. The incumbent supports research and administrative activities for the assigned division by conducting literature review and analyses on assigned projects. Moreover, the incumbent operates with the goal of advancing his/her expertise through continued education, training, and research.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.

Conducts literature reviews and analyses as relevant to the research, policy and advocacy agenda of the team.

Participates in the publication of significant results.

Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.

Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.

Keeps abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques, and developments within the area of research.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Conducts literature review and prepares manuscript for publication 

Collaborates with multiple stakeholders on planning program activities and policy analyses

Provides policy and stakeholder analyses to advance global health equity

Completes administrative tasks with expedience

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                    

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, Public Health preferred

Experience:

No prior experience required, but preference in Research, policy, and advocacy including assisting in literature review, stakeholder analyses and drafting communications is appreciated.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Commitment to the University’s core values.

Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

Knowledge of international and national relations as relevant to topics such as health equity, finance and systems

Critical thinking and research ability

Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and dedication to accuracy.

Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
