Essential functions (job duties): Wayne State University Law School’s Arthur Neef Law Library (“Wayne Law”) is seeking applications from Class of 2024 graduates of an ABA-accredited law school for a one calendar year Post-Graduate Fellowship. The fellowship offers an opportunity for a recent law school graduate to gain experience working with Wayne State’s Arthur Neef Law Library. The fellow’s responsibilities will include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: Legal Research Assistance Reference Service Assistance Collection Development Assistance Research Guide Development Data Entry/Management Student & Community Engagement Special Projects The fellow will work closely with Arthur Neef Law Library staff and will report directly to the Law Library Director. The fellow will conduct legal research and data entry / management to assist Wayne Law faculty and administration’s scholarship and scholarship-related initiatives. This includes the responsibilities listed above, as well as additional responsibilities as assigned that are viewed to be in line with the position. Qualifications: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required. Bar passage not required. Priority will be given to Class of 2024 law school graduates who have an interest in law librarianship. Candidates must be able to exercise independent judgment; responsibly manage multiple projects; communicate effectively orally and in writing; and complete assignments with minimal supervision. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until January 10, 2025. The candidate will start on or before March 10, 2025; the fellowship will last at least one calendar year from the candidate’s start date.
