The Institute for International Programs at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (IIP-JHU), in partnership with research institutions and government agencies in high-burden countries, is committed to strengthening the evidence base for effective maternal, newborn, and child health and nutrition programs. The Child and Adolescent Cause of Death Estimation (CA CODE) Project, previously known as the Child Health Epidemiology Reference Group (CHERG) offers external technical guidance and global leadership to enhance epidemiological estimates of child morbidity and mortality.
We are seeking a **_Research Assistant_** for the CA CODE project within the Institute for International Program in the Department of International Health to help advance several key objectives.
**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Assist the systematic review process to procure model input data, including cause of death and covariate data, from published and unpublished sources.
+ Assist in procuring and preparing ad hoc input data.
+ Participate in weekly team meetings.
+ Assist the team in other data-analysis tasks.
**Additional Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities**
+ Strong quantitative skills, including proficiency in at least one statistical package, e.g. STATA, R.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft office and google docs/sheets/slides.
+ Good oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
+ Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Previous experience publishing systematic review articles.
+ Previous experience working with Distiller.
+ Previous experience publishing peer-reviewed articles.
