Research Assistant

The division of Ophthalmology is seeking a **_Research Assistant_** to aid with the research studies aiming to help bridge health disparities and healthcare utilization in the ophthalmology department. The person will work with Dr. Cindy Cai’s lab group to help recruit patients to better understand the social determinants of health that impact health disparities in diabetic retinopathy care.
**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Recruitment of participants.
+ Maintain a thorough understanding of assigned research studies to execute research protocols.
+ Recruitment of participants as outlined in assigned research studies and their respective protocols.
+ Organization of study-related material.
+ Perform data entry. Monitor for completeness of data entry for each participant.
+ Participate in meetings to provide operational updates, report on issues, and make recommendations for resolutions.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Prior experience with Ophthalmology (clinical care or research).
+ Preferred bilingual in Spanish.
