Reporting Accountant Specialist (Pune, India)“Life Unlimited” At Smith+Nephew. We design and Manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.The Reporting Accountant Specialist will have to ensure that the Group’s internal monthly management reporting and external annual and interim published consolidated accounts to shareholders and to the US SEC are prepared to the highest standards and within the Group’s reporting deadlines. Maintain the controls around the Financial Statement Close Process and ensure compliance with SOX.What will you be doing?Ensuring accurate accounting of transactions for these Companies.Support in preparing Primary Statements for Group Consolidation.Acquisition Accounting – Support in performing the assessment and SOX controls. Supporting the audit process around it. Acquisition intangible - Owning the monthly process for acquisition intangible amortization and supporting the impairment models. Accounting for Acquisition Consideration Payables.Fixed Assets – Preparing Group consolidated template for Fixed Assets and testing for Impairment.Trade Investments – Accounting for Trade InvestmentsSupport the Annual Report, 20-F and 6K Filing to meet the US and UK regulatory requirements.Support with the tracking of HFM submission by the units and validations. Production of information required for external reporting and investors (quarterly and annually).Performing Group Consolidation Checkers and posting standard monthly journals.Support with successful completion of appropriate controls within the Smith & Nephew Group financial reporting function to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley s404.Support in liaising with external auditors to ensure successful completion of interim and year end audit. Maintain a standard process for reporting and accounting across the Group's reporting units.Performing IFRS16 accounting using Trintech as well as support on Adhoc projects and tasks.What will you need to be Successful?Education: Qualified Accountant (i.e ACA / ACCA / CA / CPA / CMA)Minimum 4 years of post - qualification experience, either in global accounting practice or in industry. Relevant industry experience advantageous, ideally in Medical Devices or Pharmaceuticals.Strong technical accounting knowledge, expertise and experience in reporting under IFRS.Demonstrates experience in analyzing financial data, drawing sound conclusions and developing proposals/solutions. Working knowledge and application of SOX control frameworks.Good to Have: HFM Reporting knowledge, experience of SAP / AX / Hyperion / Cognos.Proficiency in English - Good verbal, written communication skills.You.
