Climate change wreaking havoc again? Two 100-year storms in a row? Are we nearing the record for most days in a row below zero degrees? Weather affects us all, representing one of the few unifiers in our highly divided world. We seek someone to tap into our communal experience of it. On this beat, you’ll be posing questions and seeking answers that resonate with our readers about the natural world. If you have an insatiable curiosity, this might be the job for you. The job also includes some non-weather assignments, mainly based on analysis using Microsoft Excel. School report cards. Restaurant inspection reports. Property values. We’re looking for a reporter with a sense of curiosity, who will produce daily news stories using a conversational tone. The ideal candidate will pitch thought-provoking stories, analyze trends, and dig into the numbers. The base salary range is $50,000 - $60,000. **The ideal candidate will have:** + Degree in Journalism or Communications or related field preferred.
