WBUR is looking for a new reporter with a passion for covering the news and uncovering original and compelling stories that matter to our community. We hold our reporting to high standards, we love great storytelling, and we like to have fun too. We need a reporter who thrives on covering breaking news, general assignment and enterprise stories for WBUR's audio and digital platforms. In addition, this reporter will cover Boston City Hall, developing sources to break news and produce deeper dives on matters of importance to the region.
Issues include everything from laws and taxes, to the city's economy and business community, housing and real estate, police and city services. This reporter will regularly collaborate with other reporters covering immigration, Beacon Hill, transportation and more.
We need someone with a finger on the pulse of the city and its neighborhoods, tapping into the buzz of what people are talking about and concerned about, from elections to snow removal to the cost of living. WBUR prides itself on telling compelling stories in multiple formats, including audio, digital, live events and more.
The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about reaching audiences in innovative ways. They know how to build sources across a diverse constituency and drive competitive, enterprise coverage. Required Skills
+ Passion for public media journalism
+ Strong editorial judgment
+ Ability to cover a wide variety of stories and assignments
+ Experience producing stories for multiple platforms
+ Strong research and organizational skills
+ Communicates clearly in all forms
+ Fluency in multiple languages a plus
