Job Summary: Serve as a primary source for customer service for our patients while providing customer satisfaction. Handle a high volume of incoming customer calls. Follow established guidelines to receive and answer patient questions, comments, or complaints. Obtains patient demographic, insurance, and Guarantor information required to ensure that the accounts are accurate and complete. Research and distribution of incoming patient mail, correspondence and respond to phone and written inquiries from patients, insurance companies, third party payers and other entities. Demonstrate a positive demeanor, good verbal and written communication skills, and must be professional in approach. Perform duties in the patient accounting systems, work on Special projects as assigned; to include bad debt assignments, financial assistance program, work queue assignments and self-pay work lists ensuring completing assigned workload within established timeframe. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and “Change Values” of PVHMC. May perform other duties as assigned
Job Specifications:[Required] High School or equivalent. Two years experience in a hospital or medical office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance claim procedures common to medical billing and accounts receivable operations.
[Preferred Qualifications] A minimum of 2 years in a medical customer service call center environment, preferably in a hospital business office setting. Able to demonstrate analytical skills to identify, evaluate and resolve patient billing concerns.Knowledge of reimbursement, write offs, and ability to determine patient liability and overpayment amounts. Bilingual Spanish/English, preferred. Thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures. Customer service experience
Salary range: $20.30 - $28.56. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
