Remote Inpatient Coding Specialist *Must have one of the following CPC, CCS, RHIA, COC, RHIT* Location: Fully remote - Must be in approved state ( Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin) 6 month contract to hire Hours: M-F Flexible hours after training A Day in the Role: - Will log in to work queues & start applying their codes - Will have to defend their own audits - Will write their own queries which is a request made additional information from the physician which is then used to determine the best way of coding the clinical services provided for insurance purposes. - Will not query if it doesn't effect DRG (GONG) or if CDI does a query, but they have to review & question it. - EMR is EPIC and encoder is 3M. They are broken into regional and university facilities, so candidates will need to be able to shift around to support different hospitals. Average length of stay is 3-5 days (there are variances). Qualifications: · 3+ years inpatient coding experience Ideal Experience: Academic hospital experience High acuity experience Trauma experience Rehab and LTAC experience Inpatient audit experience Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
