Reman Engine and Transmission Coordinator
Job Description

Hybrid This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Cole Engineering Center Tower, Warren MI three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business]

The Reman Engine + Transmission Supplier Coordinator is responsible for working collaboratively with internal / external suppliers and cross-functional team members to improve on-time shipping performance. The Reman Engine + Transmission Supplier Coordinator ensures that established ship plans are met to maintain service part availability for our Customer Care and Aftersales customers.

This includes removing all roadblocks and working proactively to help suppliers develop corrective actions. The overall goal is to improve part availability for Customer Care and Aftersales customers in Reman Propulsion products. The responsibility includes handling part changes within SCM systems and ensure supplier schedules are aligned with Engineering’s intent and supplier capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Work in a team environment that motivates and allows professional growth

Work collaboratively across multiple functional areas to resolve various issues; both internal and external to GM/Customer Care & Aftersales

Work with supplier performance deck owners and support them in their daily tasks

Must have some flexibility and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution. 

Keep Manager, Senior Leadership and Plant Staffs updated on critical issues and send formal updates on emerging issues with customer impact or missed production plans

Will be using IMS, PowerBI, and various other tools to analyze supply chain status and develop countermeasures when necessary

Must be able to manage very complex & stressful supply issues to resolution with goal to eliminate/minimize plant disruptions and reduce premium transportation

Take ownership of all assigned suppliers and their shipping schedules and performance

Responsible for Part Change Management within SCM and ability to analyze, resolve, and process complex conditions

Executes deliverables in support of the supply chain organization's business objectives. Guides of one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives

Act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, warehousing/manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide support.

Communicates to all levels of the organization, within the function as well as other functions and suppliers

Responsible for supporting relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers

Assess supplier schedules and impact on vehicle  / propulsion assembly production.

Collaborate cross functionally to develop creative solutions.

Analyze metrics supporting supplier critical issues or sufficiency plan resolution.

Ability to tackle complete issues and implement new and innovative strategies.

Deep understanding of Supply Chain functions

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience

5+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, program/product management, logistics or product development

High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex

High level of oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

Ability to balance multiple assignments

Computer skills and knowledge of (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc)

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related advanced degree 

Production Control & Logistics Experience

Command Center Experience

Material system knowledge

CCA system knowledge

Skilled in managing projects

Planning and interpersonal abilities

Ability to work independently and self-directed

Plant Experience

Proficient in IMS

Able to learn GM On-line software tools
