The Opportunity:
The Mechanical Reliability Group Leader will lead the mechanical reliability engineers along with vibe techs to continuously improve mechanical reliability across the mill. This role will report to the Reliability Manager
How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock:
Support and participate in the mill’s Safety initiatives. Be the mechanical reliability leader for the mill Provide technical assistance on mechanical equipment failures analysis and preservation.Recommend innovative solutions to increase equipment and facility life and reduce maintenance costs through the analysis of repetitive equipment failures/breakdowns and predictive maintenance analysis reportsLead and develop the mills’ mechanical reliability engineers and vibration techs in all areas of the mill Use proactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance techniques to avoid and to detect equipment failures.Implement, audit, and improve the Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) routes and programs on existing rotating equipment and as equipment is added, removed, and improved.Assure that an appropriate response is promptly enacted based on results from predictive failure analysis and condition monitoring processes.Participate as an integral part of the Work Management Team of Maintenance and Operations to promote and improve mechanical equipment reliability.Submit recommendations and justification for capital expenditures that support and improve the Mechanical Reliability Program.Submit regular reports to the Reliability Manager covering the overall program costs and benefits, the "finds" and improvements made, as well as the strategic way forward for the Mechanical Reliability Program.
What you will need to succeed:
Hold a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 10-years of related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Pulp and Paper Industry preferred. Demonstrate strong interpersonal / team building skills and foster exceptional working relationships. Possess excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and adaptability to adjust to rapidly changing working environments and operational situations.Have the physical ability to work in a paper mill environment that includes light to moderate walking, lifting, climbing / heights, and ability to work in a hot, humid, and dusty environment.Be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, electronic mail, presentation graphics, etc.Align with company values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, and Excellence Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
