As a Reliability Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring Baker Hughes can deliver flawless execution through involvement in pre-planning, job execution, and post-job analysis. This position delivers a technical job program or application design that maximizes our opportunity to meet the job objectives in line with the contract terms and conditions. This position works seamlessly together with the Service Delivery Coordinators and other resources across organizational boundaries to ensure all aspects and constraints of the applications are understood and have been considered.

As a Reliability Engineer – Drilling Services, you will be responsible for:

Ensuring compliance with Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process

Leading / participating in Incident Investigation, ensuring the end to end process is considered, (including job planning, preparation, and execution), when determining incident root cause(s) alongside appropriate corrective actions

Focusing on preventing failures during the lifecycle management of a product or service through active monitoring and corrective action planning

Supporting job planning and preparation by participating in Risk Assessment / deviation waiver / Management of Change (RA / DWR/ MOC) and deployment readiness assessment processes (DRA)

Participating in the engineering design review process

Executing the key steps outlined within the Field Incident Management Process (FIMP). 

Managing the FRACAS DMAIC stages

Applying root cause analysis (RCA) processes

Developing and reviewing cause maps

Facilitating or leading incident investigations

Developing RCA reports and technical or field bulletins

Facilitating or leading incident review and corrective action boards

Identify FRACAS trends to identify and prioritize failure modes to investigate for corrective actions

Analyzing performance data and monitor performance

Identifying and report performance trends

Developing and report key performance indicators as needed

Sharing lessons learned with the field population

Collaborating across reliability engineering community to facilitate knowledge transfer

Acting as a subject matter expert for respective area to service delivery and supply chain functions

Supporting new product development in all aspects relevant to reliability engineering, through direct liaison with engineering and the deploying region

Handling Other PL Specifics responsibilities

Handling special projects as required

To be successful in this role you will:

Have Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics

Have excellent leadership, strong interpersonal, influencing and planning skills. 

Have ability to work in a global matrix organization 

Have understanding of the Service Delivery process and the technical nature of the business

Desired Characteristics

Preferred prior experience includes roles such as: Field Engineer/Specialist or Remote Professional, product development, applications engineer, AMO engineer or other technical disciplines

Excellent analytical skills. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Facilitation and presentation skills. 

Ability to work and communicate well with others. 

Must be able to effectively communicate in English. 

Previous experience in presenting detailed and technical information preferred. 

Project Management Skills. 

Advanced problem-solving skills with respect to Applied Engineering, Design and Technology Development. 

Strong Six-Sigma DMAIC process and business intelligence knowledge. 

Self-contained, self-motivated and structured approach to work within a global, interdisciplinary team under limited supervision

A strong commitment to learning.
